Something To Write About I remember the hard times I had in school with my writing and speech classes. One special technical writing class taken at the University level was a nightmare to me. I needed so much editing that I dreaded those classes because of the reports I had to write. I hated anything that had to do with writing. However, one day I decided to write a poem and submit it to one of those organizations that publishes poetry. It supposedly got accepted in one of the poetry contest that was being held. I was also told that it would be part of the next volume that was being worked on and that I needed to send a certain amount of money to receive the publication when compiled. I never knew if my poem was really published because I didn't have the money at that time to get the book. This little seed thought sparkled a desire in me to write about life and issues I was confronting. During what I call the realization of my being born again process I sat at the computer and typed a twenty plus pages of what I consider the challenges of growing pains in my relationship with Father throughout my life so far. It was very soul searching to sit down and type about my desire to know the Lord better, my love for him, my surrender to him, and my understanding of what I think he is doing in my life. It was my confirmation of my love to my Father and what I understand of some of his plans for my life. The ideas were flowing so freely, the bible verses to back up my arguments coming so easily that I was amazed at what was going on in my mind and soul. I was under such a great freedom and overwhelmed with such positive warm feelings that brought joy and excitement to my soul. I know that Father was guiding my hand then because it was the first time I found joy in writing. Another little seed thought sparkled when after having a respected church leader read it he told me that my writing was very personal and positively inspiring. Now what did I do with my new-found idea that I could write. Through the waiting process I felt like Joseph with his two famous dreams in his heart waiting for fulfillment. While waiting I got myself a blog on the Internet where I posted some of my work when I was led to write. A blog is an interactive communication tool that allows for comments and thoughts following a specific writing or narrative. Later, I got myself a domain name with a company offering a free site posting and I continued to post when led to write. What is God doing in my life and what am I learning now? Suddenly I found myself part of a group of people with a church bulletin that opens it to all willing to share about their life experiences. I consider it to be a prophetic tool to enlighten, strengthen, exhort, and comfort others that are going, may be going, or will be going to some of the issues presented in it. Although I still need much editing for my writing, this time I found myself writing to a relevant audience with a free editor. Thanks Jesus! Is that the work of the Lord? Yes! I know Father is healing soul and touching lives through the writings. Do you see the vision for the future (Habakkuk 2:1-4)? Do you know what Father is doing in your life? If yes, stay on course. If no, ask him to direct your steps and teach you. Do not miss the time of your visitation! When you make Jesus the King and Lord in your life, when your soul is on fire with a godly desire, and when your spirit leaps within you at the thought of it, go for it! It's not about being pretentious. Do not worry about your qualifications or imperfections. Father is in control. He is not depending on our talents to bring his will to pass. But he does want us to be aware of what he wants from us and to operate in the gifts he has given us through his mercy and grace (Luc 19:11-26). Be willing, obedient and trust Father. Learn to flow in the anointing Father placed in your life to help and serve others. He is the one doing his good work through and in us according to his good purpose anyway (Ephesians 2:8-10; Psalm 138:8). Since the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord, let's keep on doing what Father asks us to do and enjoy the ride while we are building some character on the way to our destination. Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and obey it! (Luke 11:28) Marie Monaus |
